Gaman

This print is in remembrance of my Obachan and Ojichan (grandparents) Iyo and Minoru Tamaki, who met and were married while incarcerated in Topaz, an American concentration camp in Utah during WWII.

The title Gaman is a Japanese word meaning "endure with patience and dignity", which aptly describes the spirit of a generation of people who endured this unjust incarceration and persevered.
